Sutton Foster is an award-winning actor, singer and dancer who has performed in 11 Broadway shows - most recently the revival of Violet - and originated characters in Broadway shows of The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, Young Frankenstein, Shrek The Musical, and the Tony Award-winning roles as a dancer and actor in Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Sutton Foster first appeared on the television screen in Star Search at age 15 She has also been seen as a character in Bunheads, Psych, Johnny and the Sprites, Flight of the Conchords, Sesame Street, Law and Order SVU and Royal Pains. As a solo artist, Sutton has appeared across the country in addition to internationally with her musical director Michael Rafter... performing songs from her first solo CD "Wish" along with the follow-up CD "An Evening With Sutton Foster: Live at the Caf Carlyle." Sutton Foster has appeared on stage at Carnegie Hall, Feinstein's, the Lincoln Center's American Songbook series, Joe's Pub and many others. Ball State University conferred her with an Honorary PhD in 2011. As well as being a professor and advisor within the Department of Theatre and Dance, she was also awarded this honor by Ball State University. Since March 2015, she stars in TVLand's new series "Younger" produced by Darren Star.
